We make no secret of this fact.
We have a history of embracing global innovation. Our commitment and ambition to lead the green economy are shown through our actions and the innovations highlighted throughout our proposal. Our commitment to bring the Green Investment Bank to Manchester is resolute.
It has the full backing of Greater Manchester’s ten local authorities and our strong partnerships between our private and public communities has enabled us to agree an innovative and unprecedented commercial deal to locate the Green Investment Bank in the heart of the UK’s largest financial and professional services sector for less than £20 per sq ft. Our city’s ecosystem is united by the desire to achieve the national vision for a low carbon economy.
We know that the Government’s mission to create the world’s first dedicated green investment bank as a catalyst for a successful transition to a low carbon economy would find its ideal home in the Original Modern city.
Our strengths lie in a number of key areas. When set against other regional centres, there is no comparison for Manchester when it comes to financial and professional services expertise, ease of access to the local existing and emerging talent pool, worldclass research and innovation, and when considering infrastructure and recruitment costs.
